Breast Reduction
In most breast reduction surgeries Dr. Fox uses three incisions. One incision is made around the areola. Another runs vertically from the bottom edge of the areola to the fold underneath the breast. The third incision follows the natural curve of the breast fold.
After Dr. Fox removes excess breast tissue, fat and skin, he will shift the nipple and areola to a higher position. Frequently in large breasts the areola has been stretched and is disproportionately large, if appropriate Dr. Fox will reduce the size of the areola to make it more proportional. Skin that was formerly located above the nipple is brought down and together to reshape the breast.
If needed, after the Breast Reduction has healed, Dr. Fox may propose a subsequent procedure to use Liposuction to improve the contour under your arm.
